Today is Kansas Day and the Kansas flower is the Sunflower. I thought I would have my daughter make this neat painting but realized I didn't have any yellow paint. Our plan is to get yellow paint and make this to hang up and brighten up the room on another day.
Materials:
Piece of white construction paper
Yellow paint
Brown paint
Green paint
Paintbrush
How To Make:
Use yellow paint to paint your child's palm and then have them make a circle of yellow handprints.
Let that dry. Then use brown paint to paint either their finger or thumb and have them cover the center of the circle with brown fingerprints or thumbprints. Next, paint their thumb green and make the stem. Then paint both feet green, one at a time, and make the leaves with their footprints.
This is a beautiful work of art that also provides memories of your child's handprints & footprints. You could even do this every year to compare their growth in life, just like a sunflower grows :)
I DO NOT own this photo.
